Biography

Paul McGinley is perhaps most famous for his winning putt in the Ryder Cup in 2002, but he has had some stunning European Tour and Word Cup (for Ireland) victories over the years too. He was consistently in the Top 20 golfers on the World Player Rankings throughout the turn of the century, helped by his wins in the Irish Championship and Volvo Masters. He is widely regarded as one of the nicest golfers on the Tour, a reputation enhanced by his sportsmanship at the Ryder Cup - he conceded a long putt to JJ Henry after a streaker ran on the 18th green, which meant that he lost the hole and halved the round.
